from little acorns mighty oaks grow

WELCOME

Kristin Leeson, Shane Burnett, and our TA Ben Stilin tutor high school students for the SAT, ACT, SAT Subject Tests and most other standardized tests for college admissions. We meet in the library of our 1906 house in Madison Park near the Arboretum. We've got test prep one-on-one instruction down to an art because it's what we do. If you've found your way here, you probably know somebody we've tutored or have a referral from a counselor or psychologist. Contact us here.

WE ARE AUTHORS AND APP DEVELOPERS TOO

To provide students with quality accurate study materials, we have written the Mighty Oak Guide to Mastering the ACT Essay, now available at Amazon. Learn more about the book or download sample essay prompts here.

Our SAT vocab app combines what we know about the tests with what we know about how students learn. Traditional vocab cards sit in the box untouched; "Visual Vocab" actually works to augment vocabulary because it's based on science, it's always at hand and it fits into small microtasking moments. Check out this free app for Apple iOS and Windows at Mighty Oak Games.

WE KNOW THE SAT AND ACT

Kristin and Shane have over 30 years of combined teaching experience -- all with teens, all with standardized tests. Our dynamic lessons are a mix of strategy and content choreographed to nail the fundamentals, sharpen problem-solving skills, and, of course, dramatically raise test scores. We are famous for helping students perfect nearly perfect scores but we really welcome everybody from the 9th to the 99th percentiles.
